Business Services
First Indiana Bank offers you something that's hard to find at most banks - personal service from a knowledgeable business banker. That's because we're big enough to handle your business, but small enough to spend time getting to know it. We offer a full line of business products, including business lending, and treasury management services.

Commercial and Industrial Lending
Because time is often critical in the implementation of your company's strategies, the due diligence and approval process relating to your request is important. That's where First Indiana Bank's local underwriting and approval processes make the difference. Our streamlined due diligence and local decision makers make it possible for us to be more responsive than other banks that must wait for decisions from outside the market.

Lines of Credit
Commercial lines of credit provide flexible funding to support the short-term working capital needs of your company. They permit you to readily borrow and repay funds as needed at reasonable costs, to manage the cash flow of your business and maximize your return.

Term Loans
If you're planning to purchase a significant asset such as equipment or real estate, term loan financing is often the most attractive solution. Repayment is based on the income derived from the asset purchased as well as its useful life. Term loans can be used to expand or renovate your facility, purchase or update equipment, refinance or restructure your existing debt, or to finance an acquisition.

Letters of Credit
Used to facilitate trade and mitigate the risk of exporters, importers, and unfamiliar business parties, a letter of credit is an instrument issued by the bank to transfer the responsibility of payment for goods from the customer to the bank. Letters of credit take many forms:

Import Letters of Credit are intended to finance the temporary working capital shortage of customers during importation of goods. It is issued by the bank at the request of a buyer (importer) to pay a seller (exporter) upon presentation of import documents specified in the instrument.

Export Letters are intended to provide assurance of payment to the seller for goods exported. Because the documentary credit is a bank undertaking, the seller can look to the bank for payment instead of relying on the ability or willingness of the buyer to pay.

Standby Letters of Credit function like a guarantee. The credit is drawn against when the default of performance of service or financial obligation occurs.
Interest Rate Hedging
First Indiana Bank offers interest rate hedging strategies for borrowers who want to protect themselves from the uncertainty of interest rates. These products include the following:

Interest Rate Swaps
The exchange between counter parties of a fixed interest rate and a floating interest rate in a single currency.

Caps
A contract between a borrower and a lender where the borrower is assured that he will not have to pay more than some maximum interest rate on borrowed funds.

Collars
A floating rate debt contract establishing a maximum and minimum interest rate to be paid by a borrower.
Public Finance
First Indiana Bank offers funding solutions for the capital needs of government entities and non-profit organizations. Our bankers with local knowledge and experience can help meet your needs within the timeline you require.
